Phoenix, AZ – Injuries Reported in Semi-Truck Crash on I-10 at Verrado Way
Phoenix, AZ (November 2, 2019) – Eastbound Interstate 10 west of Phoenix was closed after a crash occurred that resulted in injuries on Thursday, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Per reports from Phoenix officers, the crash involved a large truck and van and shut down the interstate near Buckeye during Thursday’s rush hour. The freeway was reopened just after 5:30 p.m., though authorities were still investigating the cause of the collision.
Initial reports indicated that the semi-truck was on its side and the van was in a ditch by the freeway. Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman Bart Graves said that minor injuries have been reported but at least one victim was transported to an area hospital via ambulance.
Traffic had been stopped west of the Verrado Way Bridge so that authorities could investigate and clear the wreckage.
