Phoenix, AZ (February 27, 2021) – Officers from the Phoenix Police Department are investigating a car accident causing injuries that occurred on Interstate 17 Saturday morning, February 27.

The accident occurred around 10:30 a.m. on I-17 southbound near Camelback Road, though it’s not clear how it initially occurred. Phoenix fire and paramedics were at the scene to treat victims and transported at least one of those involved to a local medical center. Initial reports stated that three cars were involved in the crash, which occurred on the Camelback ramp. However, the victims’ current conditions and identities have not been released.

Footage released by the Arizona Department of Transportation showed multiple cars pulled onto the shoulder of the highway. Officers with the PPD are still piecing together the events leading up to the wreck, and the investigation is ongoing.
