Phoenix, AZ – Jacinta Raya Killed in Car Crash at 57th Ave & Indian School Rd
Phoenix, AZ (December 28, 2019) – A woman who was killed after being ejected from a vehicle in a crash in west Phoenix on Friday night has been identified.
According to Det. Luis Samudio with the Phoenix Police Department, a 55-year-old woman driving a Nissan Xterra was attempting to turn left onto Indian School Road from 57th Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Before she could finish the turn, she was struck by a Jeep Laredo. The passenger in the Xterra, 52-year-old Jacinta Raya, was ejected from the vehicle and then hit by a Hyundai Elantra traveling behind the Jeep Laredo.
Raya was taken to a hospital by Phoenix EMTs but was later pronounced dead. Police say that the driver of the Hyundai Elantra stayed on the scene, and the drivers of all three vehicles suffered only minor injuries.
Authorities say the investigation of the crash is ongoing.
