Phoenix, AZ – Jan Hong Struck & Killed Near 40th St & Chandler Blvd
Phoenix, AZ (November 11, 2019) – A woman was struck and killed after a motorcyclist hit her in the Ahwatukee section of Phoenix on Monday.
According to reports from the Phoenix Police Department, the accident happened just before 8:30 p.m. near 40th Street and Chandler Boulevard. Jan Hong, who was believed to be in her 60s, was attempting to cross the roadway when she was hit by a motorcyclist. Phoenix paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after the accident occurred, but Hong died at the scene. The 32-year-old man riding the motorcycle was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
An aerial video appeared to show that there is no crosswalk in the area. Officers do not believe impairment was a factor in the crash, though the accident remains under investigation.
