Phoenix, AZ (February 12, 2021) – A pedestrian was hit by a car while crossing the street near 19th Avenue and Bell Road on Thursday evening and later died from his injuries.

Per reports from the Phoenix Police Department, the 44-year-old man was crossing the street around 9:30 p.m. when an SUV hit him. Phoenix Police Sgt. Andy Williams said that the man, who has not been identified, was transported to the hospital via ambulance. He later died from his injuries.

Williams said investigators do not believe the driver was impaired, but the investigation is ongoing at this time. No further details have been released, and the events leading up to the crash are unknown.
