Phoenix, AZ – Man Hit & Killed in Pedestrian Accident at 37th Ave & McDowell Rd
Phoenix, AZ (January 30, 2021) – A pedestrian has died after they were hit by a car in the roadway near 37th Avenue and McDowell Road early Saturday morning.
Per reports from the Phoenix Police Department, the accident happened around 12:35 a.m. Phoenix Police Sergeant Mercedes Fortune said that a 50-year-old man was driving eastbound on McDowell Road when he hit a pedestrian. First responders were dispatched to the scene shortly after the accident occurred, though Phoenix fire pronounced the pedestrian dead before he could be transported to an area medical center.
The driver stayed on the scene and cooperated with the officers, and Fortune says that impairment isn’t believed to be a factor. The investigation is ongoing at this time, and no charges or citations have been filed.
