Phoenix, AZ – Man Killed, One Injured After Wrong-Way Crash on I-17 at Greenway Rd
Phoenix, AZ (January 29, 2021) – A man has died and another is seriously injured following a wrong-way accident near Interstate 17 and Greenway Road on Friday night.
According to reports from the Phoenix Fire Department, a man died at the scene and another man in his 30s was transported to a nearby medical center in critical condition. Phoenix police say that a sedan was driving in the wrong direction on the Greenway Road off-ramp. At that time, it crashed head-on into a vehicle traveling southbound on the off-ramp.
The driver of the wrong-way sedan died at the scene, and the other driver sustained serious injuries. Several road restrictions were in place as officers investigated the accident.
The investigation into the crash continues at this time.
