Phoenix, AZ – Man Struck & Killed in Pedestrian Crash at 42nd Ave & McDowell Rd
Phoenix, AZ (April 28, 2020) – A man was struck and killed by a vehicle that was attempting to turn on to a public street from a private driveway in West Phoenix on Tuesday afternoon.
According to officers with the Phoenix Police Department, they responded to reports of a man struck by a car in the area of 42nd Avenue and McDowell Road around 12:30 p.m. Police say the driver involved was trying to turn onto McDowell Road from a private street at the time of the accident.
The pedestrian, a 70-year-old man, was rushed to an area hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. No arrests or citations have been issued at this time, though the accident remains under investigation.
