Phoenix, AZ – Multi-Vehicle Crash Blocks Left Lanes on I-17 at Thomas Rd
Phoenix, AZ (August 31, 2019) – A multi-vehicle crash blocked the left lanes of Interstate 17 at Thomas Road on Saturday afternoon.
Officials at the scene say the wreck involved at least three vehicles, which collided in the right lanes of I-17 southbound, also known as the Black Canyon Freeway, at Thomas Road around 2:15 p.m.
Police and fire rescue units responded to the scene to assist injured victims, though the extent of the injuries sustained has not been released.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
All lanes reopened by 3:00 p.m., but traffic was slowed in the area for several hours.
