Phoenix, AZ (July 12, 2019) – A car accident on Thursday evening, July 11th, closed multiple lanes on Loop 101 westbound near State Route 51.

According to officials, the incident occurred around 9:41 p.m., which backed up traffic for several miles. Officials said the injury accident involved multiple vehicles across several lanes on L-101, also known as the Pima Freeway, blocking them.

Police and fire rescue units were on the scene to assist the auto accident victims. All lanes re-opened around 11:10 p.m., but identities of the injured victim(s) and their conditions have not yet been released.

Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the L-101 wreck.
