Phoenix, AZ (July 6, 2019) – A young girl has died after sustaining injuries in a hit-and-run auto accident in Tolleson on Friday night, July 5th.

According to Tolleson police, the incident occurred around 10:00 p.m., when 28-year-old Arturo Perez was driving near 91st Avenue and Interstate 10 and collided with another vehicle.

Perez reportedly left the scene of the crash but was located by officers on foot.

The driver of the other vehicle and a 7-year-old female passenger were taken to local hospitals, but officials said the 7-year-old girl later succumbed to her injuries at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. The driver’s information and condition have not been released.

After the auto accident, Perez was booked into the Avondale Jail and is facing charges of aggravated assault, DUI, manslaughter, and hit-and-run.
