Phoenix, AZ (June 23, 2019) – A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in an auto accident that occurred near 16th Street and East Thomas Road on Saturday, June 22nd.

Officials were on the scene around 11:20 a.m. and discovered the man lying in the roadway.

According to Sgt. Vince Lewis, a Phoenix police spokesman, the man was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The driver remained at the scene after the pedestrian was transported. Neither impairment nor excessive speed appear to be factors in the auto accident, per officials. Further details about the cause of the auto accident are not available at this time, but the incident remains under investigation.
