Phoenix, AZ (December 27, 2019) – Officers from the Phoenix Police Department are investigating a deadly accident after a pedestrian was struck and killed on Interstate 17 Friday night.

The accident occurred around 8:00 p.m., though it’s not clear why the pedestrian was near I-17. Phoenix EMTs were at the scene of the accident but appeared to pronounce the victim deceased before they were able to transport them to the hospital.

The victim has not been identified, and the accident remains under investigation.
