Phoenix, AZ – Phoenix Officers Investigating Injury Wreck on I-17 at McDowell Rd

Phoenix, AZ (November 30, 2020) – At least three vehicles collided in a car crash on Interstate 17 on Monday morning, resulting in traffic backups and injuries.

According to officers with the Phoenix Police Department, all vehicles involved were traveling on I-17 northbound, also known as the Black Canyon Freeway, just before the McDowell Road off-ramp when the accident occurred. Police officials say that at least three vehicles collided in the left and center lanes of the highway. It appears that two sedans and one truck were involved in the crash. One of the sedans was photographed with extensive front-end and back-end damage, and it spun out as a result of the accident.

Officers were dispatched to the scene shortly after the wreck occurred to begin their crash investigations, though they haven’t named the cause of the accident.

Phoenix fire rescue units and paramedics also arrived at the scene around 9:30 a.m., and it appears that they either treated or transported at least one victim to a local hospital. However, no further details were released regarding the drivers’ information or their current conditions at this time.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

After an Arizona car accident, an insurance adjuster may want to speak with you. They sound friendly and they make you think that they care about your interests. They actually may sound reassuring.

Don’t think that they are speaking with you to maximize your benefit. These representatives work for the insurance company, and in reality, it’s their bottom line that they are concerned about first and foremost, not you. They are charged with saving their insurance company money, not necessarily getting you the treatment you need.

If an insurance representative asks you to give them a statement, you may not have to do so, and it may actually not be in your best interest. In fact, at ELG, when we represent a client and an adverse insurance company asks us to allow for a recorded statement from our client, 99% of the time the answer is a definitive no! Our recommendation is to tell them you will seek out counsel first, then call us at ELG.
