Phoenix, AZ – Randy Roberts Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash at 7th Ave & Indian School

Phoenix, AZ (August 9, 2020) – A man crossing a road in Phoenix died after he was hit by an unknown vehicle late Friday evening, per reports from the Phoenix Police Department.

Officers with the Phoenix police said that 55-year-old Randy Roberts was attempting to cross Indian School Road in the middle of the block, close to 7th Avenue, when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle. Police officers and fire rescue units arrived shortly after the crash occurred and located Roberts at the scene.

He was pronounced dead before EMTs were able to transport him to the hospital, according to information from Phoenix police spokeswoman Sgt. Ann Justus. It’s unclear exactly when the accident occurred.

Police have not released details about the vehicle involved and have not said whether eyewitnesses provided any information about the crash. Investigators have asked anyone with information about the incident to call the Phoenix Police Department at 602-262-6151, Silent Witness at 480-948-6377 or 480-837-8446 for Spanish.

The Phoenix Police Department’s investigation into the accident is ongoing.
