Phoenix, AZ – Robert Joey Struck & Killed Near 25th Ave & Greenway Rd
Phoenix, AZ (November 23, 2019) – Officers from the Phoenix Police Department are investigating a crash that left one man dead.
The incident occurred near the area of 25th Avenue and Greenway Road. According to police, 75-year-old Robert T. Joey was crossing a roadway when he was struck by a 26-year-old man driving a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta sedan. Joey was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Police say that Joey was reported missing by family just before the collision and was last seen walking away from Christown Mall. The driver of the Volkswagen told officers he saw Joey on the roadway just before the crash but was unable to stop or avoid him. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
