Phoenix, AZ – Serious Accident Blocks All Lanes of I-17 Past Thomas Rd

Phoenix, AZ (August 16, 2019) – A serious accident blocked all lanes across Interstate 17 past Thomas Road on Friday morning, August 16th.

Fire rescue units and police officials were at the scene of the accident, which occurred when multiple vehicles collided in the right lanes of I-17 southbound, also known as the Black Canyon Freeway, past Thomas Road around 7:40 a.m. First responders were assisting the injured victims and working to determine the cause of the collision. However, authorities have not released the drivers’ information or details about their injuries.

All lanes reopened by 8:30 a.m., but drivers experienced long delays as a result of the wreck.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

Multi-Vehicle Collisions in Arizona

The Arizona Department of Transportation’s latest accident report showed nearly 35,000 accident injuries across the state in 2018 alone. The recent crash data also showed that two or more injured victims and multiple vehicles were involved in more than half of the 55,000 total collisions last year.

Whether it’s long-term medical expenses and severe injuries or job loss or even death, serious crashes can have tragic consequences for both victims and their families. But those affected by these unfortunate incidents can contact a Phoenix accident lawyer for help, and in some cases, seek the justice they deserve from a personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit.
