Phoenix, AZ – Several Injuries in Street Sweeper Crash on I-17 at Cactus Rd

Phoenix, AZ (June 11, 2020) – Northbound Interstate 17 has reopened at Cactus Road after a street sweeper with the Arizona Department of Transportation was involved in an injurious crash.

Per reports from the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a passenger vehicle struck the street sweeper, causing the sweeper to roll over. It appears two people were ejected in the accident, though it’s unclear which vehicle they were in.

Phoenix fire said the individuals involved were transported to an area hospital via ambulance with serious injuries. Their identifying information and current conditions have not been released.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
