Phoenix, AZ – Three Injured in Two-Car Crash at 87th Ave & Indian School Rd

Phoenix, AZ (February 24, 2021) – Officers with the Phoenix Police Department are working to clean up a multi-vehicle accident that caused one car to crash into a wall at a west Phoenix intersection on Wednesday morning and resulted in at least three injured victims.

Per reports from authorities, the crash happened at 87th Avenue and Indian School Road just before 8:00 a.m. Phoenix Police Sgt. Andy Williams said a driver that was traveling southbound ran a red light and collided with another vehicle that was traveling westbound.

The driver going south, identified only as an adult male, was taken to a hospital in critical condition, Williams said. The people traveling in the westbound car, a woman and a child, were also taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident remains under investigation at this time, and the victims’ identities have not been released.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families. We hope for their full recovery.

Multi-Vehicle Accidents in Arizona

2.24 Phoenix, AZ - Three Injured in Two-Car Crash at 87th Ave & Indian School RdStatewide crash numbers from last year show that two or more vehicles were involved in more than half of the 55,000 total car accidents that occurred. The Arizona Transportation Department notes that those crashes resulted in nearly 35,000 injuries. Because of the nature of these multi-vehicle wrecks, especially those that occur on busy highways, victims and families could be paying a steep price.

Despite an overall decline in the number of crashes and injuries on Arizona roads last year, traffic deaths were at their highest level in more than a decade, particularly on major thoroughfares across the state.

In fact, there were 1,010 fatalities on Arizona’s roads last year alone, according to the annual crash facts report released recently by the Department of Transportation.

Those involved in highway vehicle accidents may experience a number of tragic, unforeseen consequences after a wreck, from long-term medical expenses and serious injuries to even job loss or death. But those affected can contact a Phoenix crash lawyer for help, and in some cases, seek justice from a personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit.
