Phoenix, AZ – Two-Car Crash Causes Injuries on I-17 at Van Buren

Phoenix, AZ (January 29, 2021) – A crash causing injuries forced a portion of Interstate 17 near the Van Buren ramp to close on Friday evening in Phoenix.

Phoenix police said an initial investigation indicated two cars traveling northbound on I-17 collided, causing a chain-reaction crash and possible rollover near the Van Buren off-ramp around 5:30 p.m. It appears at least one victim was either treated at the scene or transported to the hospital via ambulance with injuries, though further details on their condition have not been released. It was also unclear whether the other victims involved in the collision were also injured.

An investigation into the circumstances leading up to the accident continues at this time.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families. We hope for a full recovery.
