Phoenix, AZ- UPDATE: Bradley Gowdy Charged in Injurious Wreck at 7th Ave & Thomas Rd
Phoenix, AZ (November 9, 2019) – A DUI suspect allegedly responsible for a multi-vehicle hit-and-run accident was arrested this weekend, according to court documents.
According to officials from the Phoenix Police Department, they responded to a multi-vehicle accident near 7th Avenue and Thomas Road on November 2nd. Witnesses reportedly told police that an older model Toyota Highlander ran a red light, struck another car and continued to drive down the road, fleeing from the scene of the crash.
Shortly after the accident occurred, a citizen alerted an officer near 24th Street and Indian School Road, saying that a man stumbled out of an SUV with severe front-end damage. The man, 57-year-old Bradley Colin Gowdy, was reportedly identified by the victim as the man who struck his vehicle and left the scene.
Police say Gowdy was driving on a suspended license and had a blood alcohol content of .20. He has been charged with extreme DUI in the incident. Injuries were reported in the initial collision, though police say that victims are recovery.
