Phoenix, AZ (April 12, 2020) – Authorities have released further details after a crash left one person dead Friday evening on the Loop 101 freeway.

According to the Department of Public Safety, it was a two-vehicle collision with one fatality between an SUV and a motorcycle.

Troopers with the Arizona Department of Public Safety shut down the eastbound lanes of the freeway shortly before 6:00 p.m., just west of State Route 51. The lanes were reopened a little over an hour later, though the victim’s name and how the crash happened were not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
