Phoenix, AZ – Victim Killed in Two-Car Crash on I-10 at I-17 Split
Phoenix, AZ (February 15, 2021) – One person was killed in a crash that occurred on Interstate 10 near the Interstate 17 Split early Monday earning, according to officials with the Department of Public Safety.
DPS authorities say that the crash occurred just after 5:00 a.m. on Monday and two vehicles were involved. Officers with the Phoenix Police Department say that a box truck and a pick-up truck were involved in the accident, and DPS later confirmed that the driver of the pick-up truck died on the scene. It’s unclear if other injuries were involved in the crash.
The eastbound lanes of I-10 were closed at the I-17 Split for the investigation and reopened just before 9:00 a.m. This is an ongoing investigation, but officers say that impairment was not involved.
