Scottsdale, AZ – Officer Injured in Multi-Car Crash on L-101 at Chaparral Rd
Scottsdale, AZ (December 18, 2019) – A Scottsdale officer was struck and injured in a crash on Loop 101 at Chaparral Road on Wednesday morning, causing the freeway to be shut down.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety closed the northbound lanes to investigate the crash for several hours. The lanes have since reopened.
Sgt. Ben Hoster with the Scottsdale Police Department said that the officer was off his motorcycle conducting a traffic stop when he was hit by a car passing by. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He has since been released from the hospital. The driver’s information, as well as their current condition, is unknown.
