Surprise, AZ (February 7, 2020) – Two people were taken to the hospital after a serious crash involving a Department of Public Safety trooper on Friday morning.

According to officers from the Surprise Police Department, the accident shut down a Surprise intersection around 8:30 a.m. The crash happened near Grand Avenue and R.H. Johnson Boulevard, and according to the Arizona Department of Transportation, the trooper involved was on the way to a call regarding a rollover crash.

The DPS vehicle collided with an AT&T work truck en route to the accident. Two other vehicles were involved in the crash as well, and two people were taken to the hospital via ambulance.

At this point, it’s not clear who was at fault in the crash. Investigators expected traffic restrictions to be in place for several hours.
