Surprise, AZ – Officer Injured in Rear-End Crash on L-303 at Waddell Rd
Surprise, AZ (December 15, 2019) – An officer with the Surprise Police Department was seriously injured after a vehicle crashed into the officer’s car on L-303 at Waddell Road late Saturday night.
According to officials from the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the police officer was completing a traffic stop in the area of L-303 at Waddell when a gray Hyundai Tucson SUV crash into the back of the officer’s vehicle.
The officer sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local area hospital via ambulance for treatment. The driver of the Hyundai Tucson, identified only as a 50-year-old woman, also sustained serious injuries and was also transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
All northbound lanes south of Cactus Road were closed as DPS conducted an investigation.
