Tempe, AZ – Marc Norman Injured in Rear-End Collision Near L-101 & Southern Ave
Mesa, AZ (December 11, 2019) – Tempe City Council hopeful Marc Norman was injured in a car accident this week after his vehicle was rear-ended and pushed under a school bus.
Norman said that he was headed east on Southern Avenue around 12:45 p.m., near the Loop 101 Price Freeway, on Tuesday when a school bus stopped at the railroad tracks near Kyrene Road in front of his vehicle. That’s when a blue Jeep Wrangler rear-ended his red 2009 Pontiac Vibe, forcing it under the bus’s rear left wheel.
Norman, 52, said he escaped with cuts and bruises but did not break any bones. He is wearing a neck brace as a precaution and has severe back pain as a result of the accident. Police are still investigating the incident and have not released the other driver’s information at this time.
Multi-Vehicle Accidents in Arizona
Though the total number of injuries across the state is down from 2017, the number of fatalities from crashes is on the rise. According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, nearly 55,000 injuries and more than 1,000 fatalities occurred as a result of auto accidents in Arizona in 2018 alone. And many of these accidents occur as a result of driver negligence, leaving victims and their families to pick up the pieces from a wreck that happened through no fault of their own.
These serious incidents often have tragic consequences for victims and their families, including long-term injuries and costs or even job loss. But victims and their families can contact a car accident lawyer in Phoenix for help, and in some cases, seek the fair compensation they deserve from a personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit.
