Tonopah, AZ – Fatality Reported in Rollover Car Crash on I-10 EB


Tonopah, AZ (September 30, 2020) – At least one person is dead after a rollover accident near Tonopah on Wednesday morning.

Per reports from local officers, the crash happened just before 8:30 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 10, which is located west of Tonopah. According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, two vehicles were involved in the crash, and one of the vehicles rolled off of the freeway. Arizona State Troopers said one of the drivers lost control of their vehicle while changing lanes and struck another car, which was also heading eastbound.

The vehicle that was hit went off the right side of the road and rolled into a culvert. The driver of that vehicle was thrown from their car and died at the scene. Local EMTs were dispatched to the area to treat other victims involved, though their current conditions have not been released.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
