Tucson, AZ – Driver Killed in Serious Multi-Car Collision at La Cañada Dr & River Rd
Tucson, AZ (January 14, 2020) – Officers from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department are investigating a deadly crash on the northwest side, which allegedly occurred after an attempted traffic stop on Tuesday evening.
According to a PCSD news release, deputies attempted to make the traffic stop around 9:45 p.m. at La Cañada Drive and River Road. The driver of the suspect vehicle did not stop and drove northbound on La Cañada. The driver then crashed into another vehicle before hitting a guardrail near Emerine Drive.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Tucson paramedics were at the scene to treat the occupants of the other vehicle, but their current conditions have not been released.
The accident remains under investigation.
