Tucson, AZ – Man Killed in Fatal Bike Accident at McGee Ranch Rd
Tucson, AZ (February 22, 2021) – A man has died after a bicycle crash that occurred south of Tucson on Monday afternoon.
Per a report released by Deputy Marissa Hernandez with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, the accident happened just before 4:00 p.m. Deputies were called out to the scene and discovered a man lying on the ground at McGee Ranch Road, close to the ASARCO mine in Green Valley.
Deputy Hernandez says Pima County Search and Rescue Deputies were told that the 66-year old man sustained severe head injuries. An Arizona Department of Public Safety helicopter was requested, and medics performed CPR upon arrival. However, despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The events leading up to the accident are still under investigation and no further details have been released at this time.
