Tucson, AZ – Man Killed, Serious Injuries Reported in Fatal Car Accident at 22nd St


Tucson, AZ (January 7, 2021) – Per information released by officers with the Tucson Police Department, one man died and serious injuries were reported after a multi-vehicle crash occurred in Tucson on Thursday morning.

Officers say that the crash closed a portion of 22nd Street, and drivers were being told to avoid 22nd Street between South Second Avenue and South Third Avenue. The area where the crash occurred is near Santa Rita Park.

Police have not released the name of the man who was killed, and they haven’t said how many victims sustained injuries. Local EMTs were dispatched to the scene shortly after the crash occurred and appeared to transport at least one victim to the hospital.

Authorities are still investigating the events leading up to the crash at this time.
