Tucson, AZ – One Pedestrian Killed & One Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash at I-19 & Ajo Way

Tucson, AZ (December 11, 2020) – A hit-and-run accident left one pedestrian dead and another victim in the hospital in Tucson on Friday evening, according to reports from officers with the Tucson Police Department.

Officers responded to the scene of the crash after receiving reports that a pedestrian was hit near Ajo Way and Interstate 19. Police tweeted that the incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. on Friday.

One pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, and another pedestrian who was also hit was taken to the hospital via ambulance for their injuries. The department said in a statement that their current condition is unknown, though it appears they may have sustained serious or life-threatening injuries. Officers did not release any details about the suspect’s vehicle.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
