Tucson, AZ (October 24, 2019) – The Tucson Police Department assisted at the scene of a serious pedestrian accident at a Tucson intersection involving a motorcycle.

The accident took place at the intersection of Dodge and Speedway Boulevards. The pedestrian, identified as 71-year-old George McDonald, was struck by a motorcycle and taken to Banner University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. However, his condition took a turn for the worse and he passed away yesterday from his injuries.

McDonald had been trying to cross the street at the intersection when he was struck by a black Victory motorcycle headed east. The motorcyclist was thrown off of his vehicle and also suffered injuries.

The driver of the motorcycle remained at the scene following the collision and police determined that he was not traveling impaired at the time.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident at this time.
