Tucson, AZ – UPDATE: Davis Ochoa-Borquez ID’d as Crash Victim at Golf Links Rd

Tucson, AZ (September 23, 2019) – Davis Ochoa-Borquez, 29, has been identified as the victim of a deadly car crash on Sunday.

Police said they arrived at the scene around 4:40 a.m. and found Ochoa-Borquez dead at the scene. He was located near a wrecked 2000 Nissan Sentra at South Swan Road and East Golf Links Road. It appears that Ochoa-Borquez was riding as a passenger in the vehicle and was ejected when it crashed into a utility pole.

The car went through a chain-link fence near the U.S. Border Patrol Station, according to officers from the Tucson Police Department. Detectives determined Ochoa-Borquez was one of three people in the Nissan Sentra, which was speeding southbound on Swan when the wreck occurred.

Officers detained one of the passengers fleeing the scene, though they are still looking for the driver and have not issued charges or citations at this time. Officials have asked that anyone with further information about the wreck contact 88-CRIME, an anonymous tipster line.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of Davis Ochoa-Borquez at this time.

Multi-Car Accidents in Arizona

With nearly 127,000 crashes occurring in 2018 alone, it’s clear that car wrecks are an unfortunate reality of life in Arizona. Additionally, the rate of injurious accidents, as well as multi-car collisions, has risen over the past 10 years across the state. Increased traffic on Arizona roads means more devastating accidents, according to reports from the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Vehicle wrecks often cause even more stress for victims. In addition to the physical and emotional trauma they’ve already sustained from being involved in an accident, victims must deal with insurance companies, negotiations with other drivers or passengers, and financial difficulties. However, those affected by these serious incidents can seek help from a personal injury lawyer and learn more about protecting their legal rights after a multi-car crash.
