Yuma, AZ (November 24, 2020) – Authorities have released the names of those involved in a fatal accident that occurred in late September in Yuma.

Per reports from the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO), one person was killed and one sustained serious injuries after a car crash on Monday morning, September 21st. Authorities say that the crash occurred on Highway 95 and County 12½ Street.

Officers say that a white 2019 Toyota Camry was traveling northbound on Highway 95 when a black 2013 Chrysler 300 traveling southbound crossed over the center lane and into oncoming traffic. After crossing, the driver of the Chrysler collided head-on with the Toyota Camry.

The driver of the Chrysler, Alan Munoz Jacquez, 19, was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. He was later flown to a Phoenix hospital.

The driver of the Toyota Camry, Oscar Leon, 58, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene of the accident.

The crash remains under investigation, and officers have asked anyone with information to contact the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office at 928-783-4427 or 78-CRIME to remain anonymous.
