Yuma, AZ – Serious Injuries Reported in Fuel Tank Explosion at Taylor Farms & E Gila Ridge Rd

Yuma, AZ (January 14, 2021) – A man was injured on Wednesday after a serious accident occurred in the Yuma area.

Initial reports state that the man sustained serious injuries after a fuel truck ignited, according to the Yuma Fire Department. Around 3:45 p.m., officials with the YFD received a call regarding a fuel truck on fire at Taylor Farms, located at 4375 East Gila Ridge Road. While en route, YFD received another report that an explosion had occurred and that at least one person was injured. The tank reportedly carried 6,000 gallons of fuel.

Authorities didn’t say whether the injured victim was a worker or a bystander, and the victim’s current condition was not provided. It’s also unclear if other victims sustained injuries in the accident.

Officers with the Yuma Police Department and YFD authorities said that the accident remains under investigation at this time.

Our thoughts go out to the injured victim and their family in hopes of a full recovery.
