Phoenix, AZ – UPDATE: 3 Charged in Injurious Hit-and-Run Wreck at Osbourn Rd
Phoenix, AZ (September 20, 2019) – Officials from the Phoenix Police Department arrested three men after a hit-and-run collision on Wednesday afternoon.
The hit-and-run wreck happened around 3:30 p.m. at 3500 North 27th Avenue, east of Interstate 17 and northeast of Grand Avenue. The victim of the hit-and-run followed the at-fault driver but was then confronted by the driver, who exited their vehicle and brandished a gun at the victim.
The driver then fled the scene and continued to the area of 1700 West Osborn Road, where he was involved in another minor collision. Phoenix paramedics were at the scene to assist the victim of the accident.
The hit-and-run driver, 17, was eventually apprehended and booked into the Juvenile Corrections Center for aggravated assault and suspicion of theft of means of transportation, according to Sgt. Maggie Cox, spokeswoman for the Phoenix Police Department.
The passengers in the hit-and-run vehicle, Jonny Diaz, 21, and Kevin Valenzuela, 18, were also booked on suspicion of theft of means of transportation, as well as drug-related charges.
