Scottsdale, AZ – Fatality Reported in Crash at Hayden Rd
Scottsdale, AZ (October 6, 2019) – Officials from the Scottsdale Fire Department are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at the intersection of Hayden Road and McDowell Road on Sunday morning.
A spokesperson from the Scottsdale Fire Department said Scottsdale and Tempe paramedics treated two patients after the crash, which occurred around 7:00 a.m. According to police, 22-year-old Cameron Steck was speeding and ran a red light at the intersection. Steck’s car then collided with another car traveling through the intersection.
After the crash, Steck was transported to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Officers say that the other driver sustained non-life threatening injuries in the accident.
It is unknown if impairment was a factor in the collision. The crash is still under investigation by authorities.
