Chandler, AZ – Injuries Reported in Truck Accident on I-10 at Ray Rd
Chandler, AZ (November 11, 2019) – Injuries were reported in a serious truck accident on Interstate 10 Monday afternoon.
According to reports from the Chandler Police Department, a tractor-trailer overturned and landed on top of a car around 3:00 p.m. Authorities say that the accident happened near the Ray Road exit on I-10, or the Maricopa Freeway, in Chandler. Traffic on westbound I-10 came to a grinding halt when the incident occurred. The Department of Public Safety says a tractor-trailer rolled over and wound up resting on top of a passenger car, trapping at least one victim inside of the vehicle.
Officials shut down the westbound side of the freeway and advised all traffic to exit at Ray, though the freeway partially reopened about an hour later. Multiple emergency units responded to the scene, and Phoenix EMTs transported at least one victim to the hospital via ambulance. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
