Chandler, AZ – Two Seriously Injured in Truck Accident at L-202 & I-10 in Ahwatukee
Chandler, AZ (November 2, 2020) – A crash involving a cement truck closed westbound South Mountain Loop 202 in Chandler on Monday afternoon and resulted in serious injuries.
According to reports from the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a passenger car and a cement truck collided in the Ahwatukee area, causing a serious crash that resulted in two seriously injured victims. The driver of a cement truck had the left front tire of their vehicle blow out, which caused the driver to swerve to the left and hit a concrete median. The truck spun out of control and was hit by a Ford Mustang. That vehicle then ended up underneath a rear axle of the cement truck.
The driver of the cement truck sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area medical center. The driver of the Mustang also has serious injuries and was hospitalized as well, DPS said.
Officers with the Chandler Police Department said that westbound Loop 202 in Chandler was closed at I-10 because of the crash. The road has since reopened, but the crash is still under investigation at this time.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families. We hope for their full recovery.
