Mesa, AZ – Five Critically Injured in Two-Car Accident at 20th St & Baseline Rd
Phoenix, AZ (February 26, 2021) – A crash that occurred in south Phoenix on Thursday night left five people in critical condition, according to reports from the Phoenix Fire Department.
David Ramirez, a department spokesman, said that the accident involved two cars and happened near 20th Street and Baseline Road around 9:00 p.m. Five people were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, and Ramirez said two of them had to be extricated from their vehicle. Officers with the Phoenix Police Department did not say how many people were traveling in each vehicle.
A child was also involved in the collision but did not sustain serious injuries. They were treated at the scene.
Authorities are still piecing together the moments leading up to the wreck and have not released further details.
