Mesa, AZ (November 2, 2019) – A Union Pacific train crash involving two vehicles closed multiple roads and resulted in at least one injury on Saturday afternoon.

According to officers from the Mesa Police Department, the crash occurred on Alma School Road and forced road closures on Alma School and Center Roads in both directions. 

The cause of the crash is still under investigation but it is believed that one car rear-ended another vehicle, pushing it onto the tracks. Local paramedics were on the scene and appeared to transport one victim to a local hospital, but their current condition is not known.

No further information was available at this time, though authorities are continuing to investigate.
