Mesa, AZ – Pedestrian Struck by Car Near Mill & Southern Ave

Mesa, AZ (July 22, 2019) – A pedestrian was critically injured after being struck by a car on Sunday night, July 21st.

According to officials, the man was struck near Mill Avenue and Southern Avenue around 8:40 p.m. Witnesses told police that the man was pushing an empty wheelchair across Mill Avenue when the car hit him.

The pedestrian has not been identified at this time and remains in stable but serious condition.

Jani was released from custody pending the conclusion of the investigation, though further charges may be pending.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and his family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
