Phoenix, AZ (December 16, 2020) – Four children were injured in a crash involving two vehicles that occurred in south Phoenix on Wednesday evening.

According to Phoenix fire rescue and officers with the Phoenix Police Department, emergency crews responded to the crash shortly after 5:30 p.m. Authorities say that the accident happened at Central Avenue and Watkins Street, just south of Interstate 17. A Phoenix Fire spokesman said a 6-year-old boy, a 12-year-old boy, and a 15-year-old boy were all transported to an area medical center, where they were hospitalized in critical condition. Another victim of the crash, a 10-year-old boy, was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition.

Phoenix police officers are investigating the events that led to the crash. Nobody in the second vehicle needed to be hospitalized, police say.

The cause of this accident is currently under investigation, and further details are not available at this time.
