Phoenix, AZ (July 12, 2019) – A car crash late Thursday evening, July 11th, blocked several lanes on State Route 51 northbound at Northern Avenue.

According to officials, the incident occurred around 11:35 p.m. and blocked several lanes of traffic. Officials said the injury wreck involved multiple vehicles traveling northbound, colliding across several lanes on SR 51, also called the Piestewa Freeway.

Police and fire rescue units were on the scene to investigate the cause of the crash and assist the accident victims. All lanes cleared just before 1:15 a.m., but the identities of the injured victim(s), as well as their updated conditions, have not yet been released.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash.
