Phoenix, AZ (May 14, 2020) – An accident involving a semi-truck in Phoenix left one person seriously injured on Wednesday morning, per reports from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to the area of Broadway Road and 83rd Avenue around 10:00 a.m. At that time, they discovered that the crash involved a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle, said Sgt. Calbert Gillett, a spokesman with the Sheriff’s Office. The driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, Sgt. Gillett said. No other occupants were in the car at the time of the accident.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, and no further details are available at this time.
