Scottsdale, AZ – Woman Killed in Fatal Motorcycle Accident on L-101 Pima at McDowell Rd
Scottsdale, AZ (February 19, 2021) – Officers with the Scottsdale Police Department say that the Loop 101 Pima Freeway has reopened after a deadly crash involving a motorcyclist that occurred early Friday morning.
Per reports from authorities with the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the accident happened around 4:30 a.m. at McDowell Road and involved multiple vehicles. DPS initially received a call of a body in the area and when they arrived, they found a woman lying in the road. She was riding a motorcycle when a car rear-ended her, causing her to fall off. After that initial collision, a second vehicle hit her.
The highway was shut down for a few hours while troopers investigated, but no further details about the drivers involved or the victim’s identity have been released. The investigation continues at this time.
