Tempe, AZ – 1 Killed & 4 Injured After Crash on L-202 at McClintock Dr
Tempe, AZ (October 11, 2019) – One person was killed and four others were transported to a hospital with serious injuries after an accident on Friday.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Bart Graves said that crews responded to the four-vehicle collision on eastbound Loop 202, also known as the Red Mountain Freeway, at McClintock Drive. The chain-reaction accident happened around 3:00 p.m. News footage from the incident showed that the multi-car accident blocked three lanes of traffic as emergency crews arrived on the scene. Paramedics worked to rescue the victims and transport them to a local area hospital via ambulance shortly after the accident occurred.
One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, but the conditions of the other hospitalized victims are unknown.
Officers from the Tempe Police Department are still investigating the crash at this time.
