Grand Canyon, AZ – One Dead, Dozens Injured After Fatal Bus Accident on Diamond Bar Rd
Grand Canyon, AZ (January 22, 2021) – One person has died and dozens sustained injuries after a tour bus rolled over while traveling to the Grand Canyon on Friday afternoon.
Per a report released by the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, a tour bus was heading toward Grand Canyon West around 12:30 p.m. when it rolled and landed on its side at milepost 5 on Diamond Bar Road. The bus, which was managed by a Las Vegas-based company, was carrying 48 people, including the driver.
Deputies with the MCSO say that one person died, two sustained critical injuries, and seven more were transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center via ambulance with less severe injuries. In addition to those victims, 33 people were transported to the hospital for minor injuries.
Officials have not released the names of any of the passengers or the name of the tour bus company; however, the investigation is ongoing.
