New River, AZ (March 17, 2020) – A 13-year-old boy was seriously injured after being struck by a car in Anthem on Tuesday.

Per reports from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, the boy was riding his bicycle shortly before 2:00 p.m. in the area of Anthem Way and Daisy Mountain Drive when a car hit him. Local paramedics arrived on the scene shortly after the crash occurred and transported the boy to a hospital.

Deputies are investigating whether speed or impairment may be a factor.
